I’ve always been interested in evaluating different software compression programs and algorithms. I’m currently busy with yet another series of tests to satisfy the ever-existing drive to find the ultimate general purpose software archiver, in terms of compression ratio as well as compression and decompression time.

Consider this then as an early indication as to which software archiver sets the standards and should continue to do so in years to come.
